Öğretim Teknolojileri ve Materyal Tasarımı Dersinin Öğretmen Adaylarının Eğitimde Teknoloji Kullanımına Yönelik Kaygılarına Etkisi
Abstract
Although teachers want to use a new digital technology in their lessons, they may not integrate the technology into their lesson due to their concerns about its usage. To determine teacher candidates’ concerns about the use of educational technology can guide the direction of the researches done to overcome these concerns. This study is conducted to examine the teacher candidates’ concerns about educational technologies in the Instructional Technology and Material Design (ITMD) course in Faculty of Education. The study was carried out with 68 undergraduate students. The Educational Technologies Anxiety (ETA) scale including five factors, developed by Yalçınalp and Cabı (2015), was used in this study. Cronbach's alpha coefficients of factors vary between .70 and .92. The scale was administered to the participants at the beginning of the course, which was carried out for 14 weeks -2 hour face to face; 2 hour distance education per week. Each week, the students were asked to develop digital materials throughout the course. The scale was applied to the same group again at the end of the term. The data were analyzed by independent samples t test. The results showed that a significant difference between pre-test and post-test mean scores of the factors of job location and technology disadvantage- limitations-centred anxiety.
