Abstract
Trimester education system is one of the training models applied at vocational schools which provide associate degree education in higher education. In this model, the industry is involved in thetrainingprocess. The trimester education system within the university-industry common education development process is applied as three terms in a year. Students in the trimester education model have four semesters of theoretical education; do their internship in two terms (130 work days) throughout their education and can graduate at the end of six semesters with practical workplace training.
In the draft related to rearrangement of higher vocational and technical education prepared by YÖK (Higher Education Institute) certain studies are conducting toward restructuring of identified higher vocational schools and switching from semester to trimester in education. As a result of the education sector, it is thought that the extension of the practical training period will enable the students to use advanced technology systems in today's work fields and to provide qualified training according to the industry expectations.
The purpose of this study is to determine the satisfaction levels of the students who are trained in the trimester education model. To collect data a survey method was used in research. The data obtained from the answers given by the students in the Trimester education system will be analyzed by the SPSS statistical program. The research group comprised of students of Gaziantep University Naci Topçuoğlu Higher Vocational School which is the first vocational high school that passed the pilot application with the trimester education system. The goal is to reach the entire universe. The differentiation of the satisfaction level of the research group regarding the quality of education and training service in terms of some variables will be statistically analyzed.
